Default any heads over 72cc?

Im thinking about lowering my compression to put a blower on the car but I really dont want to screw with changing the pistons for now.

im waiting on more kenne bell results

with a 74cc head and .074 cometic head gaskets, id be at 9.5-9.6:1

according to this chart, the 2001+ lq4 6.0 liter heads yield a compression ratio of 9.1 when swapping to a 5.7 liter engine, "this is the workhorse head for street/strip turbo and blower cars"

Kumar,

Be careful with manipulating gasket thickness. You want to maintain good quench/squish.

Often slightly higher comp with better quench is less prone to detonation that lower comp with poor quench.

ya im thinking of keeping the nitrous setup and going with lower pistons if i ever wanna put a blower on the car

whats the thinnest 4.1 bore headgasket?

I would defentially not run that big of a gasket.
You can get down to 9.5:1 with no problem on a stock LS1 with a 74cc head.
9:1 will be tough. Anyways 9.5:1 will be fine.
Look at all the stock Z06's with 10.5:1 running FI.

i dont have a stock motor

408 with -9cc pistons

anyway, if i ever decide to do it, ill switch to -25ccish pistons
