Default 6.0 cranks, strength or displacement?

I know the ls1/lq4/etc factory cranks have been proven tough pieces, but in 700+ hp applications, are aftermarket cranks used mostly for the extra displacement or are the factory pieces not reliable? In this case, Im considering reliable the ability for the crank to survive reasonably in a <6,000 rpm street motor/turbo setup. Im not trying to be cheap or anything, but I just wouldnt want unecessary costs if the stock crant is suited for the job.

I have never heard of a LS1 crank breaking in any application. Does anybody know of any instances in which a stock crank actually broke?

Ive never heard of a snaped crank in an ls1 either.

You should be good with the stock crank for a while .

Big nitrous hp will demand a kick *** crank at 800-900 hp but
turbo or supercharging should be good to 750-800 .

Basically what I was thinking. Now just to find a good 6.0 ... Anyone know of a consistant source (or at least good source) for these engines in the southeast michigan area?

If you were over 1100rwhp then maybe I would start looking for a different crank. FWIW: I have a 6.0 crank in my 347.

Actualy it is the opposite, you have a 346 crank in all the 6.0's.

arent the 5.7 and 6.0 L cranks the same, except the ls2 gets a 48 position reluctor instead of the ls1's 24?
