TREX and auto tranny??
Who all is running a TREX with a auto tranny? I am considering this cam with my next motor and will be going to a TH350 and 410 rear end. 28" tire also. Is this a good cam for a auto car? It will be just for drag. Stock heads.
Thanks.
Thanks.

my buddy has one, a th-350, stock heads, 4000 stall, bottom end it feels like a turd, but it picks up pretty well, my main suggestion would be a large gear, at least a 3.73 or 3.90 would be better.

Im doing the exact same setup right now, just getting started though, so far I have the cam worked out, still need everything else.
Reason Im posting, and reason Im doing this setup, I had a buddy still running a 4L60E with a 4200 stall with a Trex. He had a few bolt ons and was running on stock suspension in his 98 TA and made a 7.30 pass all motor with this setup in the 1/8. Im not sure what gear he was on, maybe a 3.73
Ive been running a G5X2 and 4.10 gears so far with an M6, so this will be a big change for me as well. Good luck with the swap.

7.30 with the trex and a 4200 stall is pretty slow really juiced, there's cars all over at full weight going 7.10s-.20s with smaller cams and the same size converters, my old personal setup included.

I think you are right, just wanted my story to be believable, I know how the critics are on here. He was for a fact on a completely stock suspension, nothing under the car changed at all, that pass was on BFG DR's, car went low 6's on spray. Car had a lid, Long Tubes, and a cutout. 7.30 was the best pass all motor and that was moving pretty good where I live.

4500 would be a great area for that cam, but anyone wanting to run something like a yank pt4200 with that cam and the right setup would be SICK. i ran a yank pt4200 with a "similar" cam and it was NASTY.... would it have been meaner with a pt4600? who knows

I have a 4000 stall and a Trex but they are uninstalled right now. My car's a daily driver and will be NA. I have been debating on sending my stall back in to be set a little higher (4200-4400). I just don't want to have a totally unstreetable setup. Not to hijack the thread, but will I HATE daily driving a 4400 stalled car?

Seriously though if you had no idea what stall i had iand i let you drive my car around i bet $$$ you would guess it was a 4,000 stall.
