Default Wich are the best Lifters?

I am considering upgrading my Rockers to the 1.8crane gold rockers kit with pushrods etc supposed to be good for 20hp,when I do this should I consider new lifters and if so wich ones? Can a change of lifters make a difference even if its a small one I would like to know.I see on summits website Roades lifters say you can gain 25% more torque is this possible or more sales hype?

Morel are the best. The difference is better oiling and high speed (rpm) valve control.

The rhoades is hype.

So is gaining 20hp from 1.8 RR's.

Sounds like you are not pulling the heads, and this is required to pull lifters. Also, the Morels are very good lifters, but they are also slightly longer than stock so the pushrods that come with the Crane kit will not fit and you will need new pushrods if you go with the Morels. If you are only doing the rockers, stick with stock lifters.

I was goin down the same path as you at one point, Read a couple threads about spending a shi$ load of $$$$$ for rockers + installs and only gained MAYBE 5hp in the top end. Honestly dont think its worth it, From what I gatherd so far keep the stock rockers, Possibly send them out get them reinforced, and use the money you were goin to spend on the rockers and buy a cam kit from tsp comes with springs, pushrods, tit ret's your choice of cam.. hell of alot more s.o.t.p. then 1.8 rockers. I hate to see somebody spend alot of money, and not be happy. Just throwing in my 2 marbles.

Plus with upgrading the rockers, youd prob be pushing the stock spring ratings.

I have Comp R lifters w/ my yella terra rockers. I have had no issues at all....very happy with the performance of this setup. I did the Comp R's because I have Comp 977 springs.

Be careful with the cam that you choose....if you are going with a XER lobe and it has some serious lift, you will probably run into issues running a 1.8 rocker due to the ramp rates.

Correct me if I am wrong?

yeah thats true. Most of the cams that you see that are decent upgrades wont work well with 1.8's

I cant see how it will change anything for a sotp feel at all possibly 10hp in the top end thats it. Why do you not want to do a cam for a while? Specially with the money youd be Wasting on rockers, you could just spend it on a cam and be alot more happy. Youd prob gain anywhere between 30-50hp on a cam swap with a tune, while spending near the same amount of money (minus the tune) for rockers and only gaining like 10hp, then later on down the line youll have to switch back to the 1.7 rockers when you do a cam, cause its hard to get a combo that works with a cam and 1.8 rockers.
