Tsp 402 Need Your Input!
Tsp 402 Need Your Input! Well i was previously going to replace my blown motor with just another stock factory LS1. But i mean, i might as well step up and spend the extra money now, rather than wishing i did and doing it later down the road. Like the saying goes, "go big or go home" right? 
So im pretty much set on the Stroker 402 short block from TSP. a lot of the parts on my old 98 LS1 are still salvageable (drivetrains, heads, accessories, etc.) This is basically going to be a budget 402.
So the question is. What parts can i still use on this block off my 98 motor? I mean how bad are the stock heads, LS1 intake, and cam going to starve it? I can upgrade later down the road, but can i still use the stock drivetrain on the 402, and will it still be making more power than a stock LS1?

Using the stock valvetrain and heads would probably make for a lower HP stroker and a pretty heavy torque motor.
That said...you will be choking a motor that wants the air using the stock parts. Remember, they choke the 346ci...imagine what they will do to a 402ci.
BTW...TSP 402 is what is in my car. Great choice!
