Do most of you guys just use engine oil on the cam before putting it in or should assembly lube be used?

Assembly lube for when the car will sit a while before firing.

So, is engine oil safe enough or should the assembly lube be used?

I thought you didn't need to use assembly lube on a roller cam ?

Oil will be fine if you assemble and fire the engine. Too much time and the oil will just run off. I used assembly lube and white lithium grease on the entire thing, but the motor sat in my heated garage for 4 months before install.

So, if using assembly lube, should you change the oil soon after the car has run for a bit after the cam install is done?

It is always a good idea after doing internal work to change the oil after a short amount of time.
