Thrust bearing gone?

Thrust bearing gone? Wat does the engine do/sound like when the thrust bearing goes? I've been getting metal shavings in my oil for months, want to know what feels/sounds like when it goes completely. Is oil pressure affected for this bearing?

Not really, besides the damage done to the bearings from the particles circulated. If its a stick then have someone work the clutch with you watching the dampener/pulley. The crank will noticeably more fore and aft if the thrust is shot.
Very unlikely. The thrust bearing is actually the number 3 main as well. You also have an insane amount of variation of clearances. I think you have between .0015 and .008 which is quite a bit of variation but isn't something you are going to see with the naked eye. If you have a thrust bearing problem it has likely torn the rest of the motor apart before it got to this point. You are going to have some shavings in your oil reguardless. That is the natural wear of the motor not much you can do. There is a point where it becomes excessive. How much are you getting in shavings out of it?
