There are other options, too. My block is being machined at one shop, and being hand-assembled at my buddy's speed shop.
But it's like Steve said...once they start rippin' into it, you never know what they're going to find. That's why it's SO IMPORTANT to find an HONEST, REPUTABLE, COMPETENT shop. They won't do any unnecessary work, if they find something, they'll call you and explain your options to you, and, most importantly, the work will be top-shelf.
BTW...why no ARP rod bolts? If you want a 400+ HP engine, you don't want to replace the stockers with another set of stockers...especially if you're going to the trouble & expense of having new pistons (aftermarket?) installed.
