New Diamond and Manley Pistons Diamond's catalog lists a new for 2006 line of IBF Race pistons for the LS1. Manley's catalog lists a new Plantinum series piston. Both are fairly light weight. in 3.905" bore, 4" stroke 1.115" compression height size the Diamond flattop weighs 405gms; the Manley 388gms.
Both have short length pins. The Manleys are 2.3", the Diamonds are 2.2. With .130 and .125 wall thicknesses, these pins weight 98 and 89 gms respectively. So the combined weight is close.
Both use a standard LS1 1.5mmx1.5mmx3.0mm ring package and offset wrist pins, making these more a street design.
So, is anyone using them?
