Default Problem Removing Valve Stem Seals???

everytime i ask someone what i should use... they always say a pick... and i must have tried that atleast 4 times already and it just rips the top of them off. its like the base of it has gotten really hard... any other ideas... im getting the heads machined some and then hot tanks so i dont know. any help

I was told that the valve stem seals aren't reuseable. You can take them off with some pliers and then get new ones. You just gotta pry on it a little bit going back and forth.

Yeah pliers or channel locks. Seals are cheap.

I agree. I replace the seals every time the springs are out.
