Default oil question please

hi, well i read some of the stuff about the oil below but was wondering.with a car with a cam (232/240/595/608/112) with the stock heads cleaned up alittle. what oil would you use? i have been useing castrol gtx semi synthetic 5w-30. but before was useing reg. oil (not synthetic) is the synthetic oil better with cam cars or just reg. oil. sorry if its a dumn question to some but i'm up in the air and was wondering. thanks

I feel semi synths dont really offer any added protection over a conventional oil. Definately switch to full synthetic and extend your oil change intervals. Synths definately protect better, wont sludge at all, and really cut down on wear, IMO.
