Default 5.3 prc ms3

I have did a serach on pv and I think everyone is saying that with the 2.04 in the 5.3 with the ms3 I will have to notch the pistons. What I want to know is, can I go back to a smaller valve or install thicker gaskets, or do I have to notch the pistons?

Those are some big valves. I would have had to flycut with 2.02 and 1.57 valves in the 5.3. It might be wise to jump down to 2.02 and 1.57 valves, the ones you have now might be overkill. However, even with 2.02 and 1.57 you will have to notch the pistons. If you don't want to do that, I would rethink the cam you are going to use or rethink the heads you are going to use.

What kind of shops notch pistons? I read that lg motorsports rents a dummy head that you can do it with.

I'm sure any motor rebuilder/installer will do it. Just call the local shops around
