Default new stroker

Well i spun a bearing, so it looks like i get to build a new engine. Preferably a stroker. My question is what do i have to do to run a 4 inch stroke crank, and what will that bump the cubes up to? How bout compression? thanks.

with a stock bore it would be a 383.

If you reuse your LS1 block, a 4" stroke crank will put you at 383 cid with a slight cylinder hone (typically 3.905"). How big you want to go will solely depend on how much you want to spend. Strokers have definitely come down in price a LOT from a few years ago! We offer quite a few short-block packages for a 347, 382/383, 402/403 LS2, 408 iron-block, 427, etc. Our standard short-block packages will typically use a Mahle Motorsports or Diamond Racing piston set, Scat H-beam connecting rods, and an Eagle 4" stroke crankshaft. However, we can build the engine with just about any configuration. We would need to know what your goals are with the new engine (i.e. street, strip, or combination of both; naturally-aspirated, turbo, or supercharger; pump gas or race gas; etc.) to know what parts we would recommend to build your engine with. We can set the engine up with just about any compression ratio; we'll just need to know what cylinder heads you plan on running.

Feel free to e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com with any questions or concerns. I'll be more than happy to put an itemized estimate together for you so you can see exactly what everything is going to cost you. Also, let me know if you're looking for a basic short-block or long-block. We can build them anywhere from bare short-block assemblies to complete turn-key long-blocks.
