Stealthy Silverado...requesting comments
I'm replacing my 2000 Silverado's 5.3L with the following 402ci set-up :
6.0L iron block (LQ4), 4.000 in bore
4.00in stroke Eagle forged crank
6.125in Eagle H beam rods
LS6 (243) Heads (64cc)
LS6 intake
LS6 2002 Camshaft (204/218 @ .0500 lift, 117.5 LSA)
Pistons....????
...here's where I need some consultation....Do I get -12cc dish forged pistons and go for a 400hp+ NA street machine?.....or do some sort of serious monkeywrenching to get the compression down to an acceptable/workable FI application? My goal is to get to 500Hp and take the next Dodge SRT10 that lines up next to me.....
Looking for some advice on what to do here.....any comments?
I took your advice on a bigger cam and got the Torquer v2 from TSP. Now I just need to decide on the pistons (low or high compression )...before I take everything into the Machine shop.
*Also undecided on whether to go with a 402 or 408 ....should probably just bore it .030 over while everything is there....
Thanks.
If it was mine I would leave the small bore to give the room to bore if you were o hurt a cly. The power difference between 402 and 408 will be very little.
Good luck with the project.
