Default TSP 231/237 cam???

I want to purchase a TSP 231/237 .598/.595 cam for my car but I don't know if it will work. I just recently purchase and installed a set of Katech heads that looks to been shaved .032, there is no valve relief and I used the GM stock gaskets .050 thk. Can anyone tell me or help me. Will this cam work in my car without valve relief? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got Thunders 231/237 .604/.598 cam with stage II heads shaved .012, and I had to fly cut. Did in car, and have setup. The heads were used, so not sure if they were shaved any prior to me getting them. They were port and polished though. You can always use a check spring and check.

So, you are saying I need to valve relief/fly cut to run the 231/237 cam?
Anybody else, I need to let a member on the board know if I want the cam or not. PLEASE let me know. jwcej@msn.com
Thanks again, and God Bless Our Troops and the U.S., John Junkins

I am not sure if TSP and Thunders cams are ground the same. If you have to fly cut, it is pretty easy though. Call TSP and ask, if you will have any issues.

You probably do. I have a 232/234 cam and you have to flycut for anything over a single digit mill. If you havnt bought that cam, think about the 233/239 cam instead as its ground on more agressive xer lobes which will make more torque and power.

That really sucks, I just put my car back together a month ago. I thought I would like the cam I already have in (Comp Cam/TSP 228R). BUT!! I like the sound of the 231/237 better. I haven't purchased the cam yet, Dennis is waiting to hear back from me. I've also emailed Jon @ TSP but no response.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks again, have a great weekend and God Bless Our Troops and the U.S.,
