I'd be worried about the pulley since the pump has to come out the pulley has to come off. That will be a painfully obvious mod then <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

My experience has been that dealers can and will say anything they want about your mods. It's up to you to try and prove a negative (they should have to prove the mods caused the failure). They told me my SLP Loudmouth exhaust was to blame when my first oil pump failed. Something about the low backpressure making the car run lean. They basically laughed at me when I brought up the Magnusson-Moss Act concerning warranty work on cars with mods. The trick is to find a dealer that actually knows a thing or two about which mods can and can't cause problems.

It depends on the dealer. You may want to post in your regional section asking for a mod friendly dealer. I don't know about you but I'd rather go a bit further and pay a couple hundred for a tow instead of a few grand for a new motor.

Call up the nearest dealer and tell them about your problems and mods and just see what they say.It all depends on who is working is all.

Well car is still at the dealers. They said that the main shop is backed up and they will troubleshoot the problem in the AM. So far nothing said about the mods and they did give me a rental car under warrenty so ... we'll see how it goes. Supposedely per my service rep there are 2 buletins out 1 for the pump and 1 for the insturment cluster. Hopefully it is just the gage and they don hassel me on the mods. I brought up the buletins to my rep in a cheap attempt to let him know I was researching any linked trouble - just in case they do try some 'mods caused it to go bad' mumbo-jumbo.

Thxs for the replys and hopefully this doesn't wind up a horror story. Especially since I paid for the extended warrenty!
