Buying a used cam?

Hey guys-

I've been thinking about picking up a new cam..

Would snagging a cam with 6K or 15K be a huge deal? I mean, would it be outright stupid to pick up a used cam with 15K on it?

Should be fine. Just ask for some pics to make sure. You'll be looking for any scuffs or marks on the lobes. If the cam was properly installed and maintained during the time it was in the car, it should come out looking like new.

I've always bought used cams for my car and haven't had any problems with them so I'd say go for it.

yeah, what jake said above, but also look for any potential spalling or pitting on the lobes and journals, or any off ridges or tooling marks.

as long as the car it came out of was cared for you are fine. I had my cam out of my car not too long ago and it looked new, still had paint on it from comp.
