more pully issues

more pully issues OK so i have a 3 finger puller. I get the fingers on the back side of the pully, hit it with the gun. Then the puly will move outward about 1/4 inch, and stop???? The pully on my car does not have any taped holes, so i can not use a stering wheel type puller. Any ideas?
