Default backfire.

ok I have a lid mac midlengths and and y pipe with cats and corsa catback, 85mm maf and ls6 intake and sometimes after ripping a gear say first or second, and I take my foot of the gas real quick and the car is decelerating at this point, sometimes I get a loud POP! out the exhaust but only on hard decels, never accelerating. Example, I am getting on first maybe 70% throttle and someone pulls out in front of me and I take my foot of gas and throw it on the brake, someimtes it will just backfire, and only once......and thats about the only kind of scenario I got it down to, is a decleration. can someone chime in"? I think maybe a tiny exhaust leak causing this,? I cant find any soot under along any exhaust though.... but I do have a pea size hole in my muffler case, can this be causing it, I am going to fix it this afternoon, but anyone that can help me out would be greatly appreciated.

Unburned fuel hits the exhaust manifold and pops off.
I love decel pops as long as they aren't over the top. I have no cats, so before tuning the decel fuel amts, it was insane.
Tuning can reduce the pops, but I did not take all of it away. Keeps the blue hairs awake around you.

Okay, If you have a tune software you whack the DFCO settings to get the pops out. Any pro tuner can do this for ya too. You can turn off, change the settings or enable it under more stringent conditions.

yep, its the Decerleration Fuel Cutoff. just get a tuner to turn it off. The point of it is to save a lil gas mileage on decel.
