Default used tit. retainers???

Are slightly used (5000 miles) titanium retainers such as comp. # 772-16 alright to use with no worries?

Or, do they wear over time with use and should new ones be used instead? How much wear do they actually sustain in the valve train?

thanks...

you could easily get 500,000 miles out of a set of titanium retainers, they dont exactly wear........at all.

The only reason I ask is because I read on a few websites how some titanium retainers showed wear/gouges/shavings after 10,000 to 20,000 miles. I just thought that maybe they only had a certain amount of life expectancy.

Maybe there are different grades of titanium used or the manufacturing processes might differ to produce different durability ratings.
