Default z06 Cam Help..

Im looking for the best street cam to put in my 02' z06.. I never road race or ever plan on taking my z to the track, just your average weekend street races.. I have came to a conclusion that I would like to get one of the Texas Speed Cam Kits, with dual prc spring,rods,etc.. My question is what cam would be best for a street monster.. I want a cam that will hit like a ms3 or g5x3 but gives me the nastiest performance on the street.. I have only had my ls6 for 1 month and im new to ls1/ls6 based motors so im learning all I can at the moment.. I also plan to add the Dynatech Supermaxx Headers Full System, Vararam Intake, ASP Pulley, and a Double Roller Chain.. I have searched and dug up threads with no help thus far, any input is greatly appreciated.. Thanks!

-Justin

ps-could i run the ms3 on a 113 lsa without and clearance issues..on stock untouched heads..im loking for around 430rwhp, and descent torque..im also interested on the new ms4 cam, but not sure if I would run into clearance issues..

You need to do alot of reading about cams. there is no best cam. you have about 20 off the shelf cams to choose and then the 50,000 custom spec ones. you need to learn about duration, lift, LSA and advanced ground. if there was a best cam, everyone and their mom would have it. ever wonder why each of us here have a different cam? its because each cam fits our individual needs

Or in my case, just a wild-*** guess.

But seriously, you don't need to go too big on a cam-only and the MS3 and G5X-3 have both had great results. I'd get an LS2 chain instead of a dbl. Just cheaper, and more than enough.

Exactly, thus being the reason I stated what I plan to do with the cam, in my application, which is a nasty cam that pulls like a **** on the street without revving up to the moon.. I listed the additional mods that I will be installing as well, to help paint a picture of what im looking for and what cam would benefit me the most with the cam and mods that I will be using.. I have read 100's of threads of all sorts and still haven't a clue which direction I should start in.. you seem knowledgeable enough, so why not point me to a thread with some solid info..

Raising the lsa will raise the peak power, i would stick to the 112 which if i remember right peaks at 6600rpm usually??

i was just concerned because of the size of the cam i didn't want any clearance issues..they say the g5x3 is close, and leaves no room for any missed shifts on the 112lsa, thats why i was curious about the ms3 on the 113..
