Default Diagose this noise..

Sounds like a rocker hitting the valvecover...only happens for a few seconds at startup and at all times under load. Sounds like its coming from the drivers side upper back part of the motor (01 C5). Speed up with rpm.

Took valvecovers off. Stock Rockers and springs are all fine. Compression test all cylinders 180-190psi. Plugs look all the same. Im thinking collapsed lifter but I want to know if you guys can think of anything else before I tear the heads off.

Thanks.

without hearing it in person, i'd vote for a lifter. I assume your PR's are straight.

You'll never guess what it was...

The EVAP line came loose...goes from throttlebody, across drivers side valvecover where there is a solenoid laying..then a curvey line that connects to a hard line at the back of the head. Seems like that was never locked on from the factory and a little boost from the turbos popped it.

So by all means check that line before you go tearing in for a collapsed lifter...a lot of wasted time.
