I was searching on gm parts direct, and they have the 02 ls6 corvette oil pump and the 1998 ls1 oil pump as the same part numbers. does anyone have any information about the ls6 oil pump and why is it suppose to be better than the ls1?

 

The LS6 pump replaced the LS1 pump.

 

There really isn't an "LS6" oil pump.. I've had both LS1 and LS6 pumps apart on my bench, measured both of them and they were identical.
