High idle code-- SES LIGHT ON-- ANNOYING

High idle code-- SES LIGHT ON-- ANNOYING I have a 99 LS1 and in the last month or so, the SES light is coming on and it is for high idle. I cannot remember the code itself, I will look it up and update this post when I get it. What is there that could be causing this? I checked all the wiring and it all looks good. The computer is programmed and has always ran without the light ever coming on. The engine seems to run good, but GM says that light will come on if the engine idles 200 RPM's higher than normal for more than 2 times and it will set the light off. I woulld really like to get rid of the light coming on so if it does come on for something else I realize it is not something stupid. If you all have any ideas or have ever had this happen to them, PLEASE HELP!!!

I have small 1500-6800 cam in it. I have not drilled a hole in the T/B, what is the advantage of doing that? I was thinking IAC motor as well, but I thought maybe there was something different I was looking over. Could this be a PCM problem? Thanks for the help!!
check all your vacum lines..what i was always told is crank up your car with the hood open and get some t\b cleaner(which is safe for injectors and sensors) and spray it all over your intake and vac. lines if it idles up then thats your leak..thats what i would check and your IAC too...

The weird thing is that I am not even noticing that the engine is idling high. I think it may be a couple of times, but not all the time. Another weird thing is that they SES light has come on when I was driving down the road, and that makes no sense to me. If the was a problem with it idling, why would it not come on when it was just sitting there? I am throughly confused at this one.
It would help a lot to have the code its throwing, its likely a lean code judging from what your saying. Im thinking a vacum leak..anywhere after your MAF would cause this. Could also be an O2 sensor...you would be suprised how many different codes can be thrown due to a lazy O2 sensor.
