Default TDC question???

What is the easiest way of checking or making sure my #one cylinder is at or close to TDC, with everything all buttoned back on the car????

Probably the best/most accurate would be to use a piston stop.

Knowing what the valvesprings looked like would be the easiest way to determine that. All you would have to do is pull the valvecovers. I still consider that to be practically buttoned up.
