loud clank while we were changing the springs, the last two sets we did, when we connected the air hose to keep everything from falling in, the timing chain moved and a loud metal to metal clank was heard, could this be the air forcing the piston to move and trying to turn over the motor? we have the other side completally done with rockers on while we were doing this side of the motor
I wouldn't think that that little of air would turn the motor over, especially if you have accessories attached to the motor. Why would the timing chain move though, that's what's strange...

The compressed air will definitely move the motor, I assume thethe chain was hooked up so of course it will move too. Just finish your springs and turn it over by hand to make sure all is clear. Are the other plugs out?

no the plugs were just hand tight, we finished all springs and turned the motor over,put the rokers on and what not, the chain didnt move more than an inch from all the springs, so im not sure if thats significant or not
Really? What kind of psi are your pumps regulated at 200?! I set mine much lower and didn't budge the motor. I guess you're right though, if it's not at TDC it would move some wouldn't it.
