ET heads retainer issue?

ET heads retainer issue? ET 215s
Is this normal?
What is the issue?
This is what I've figured out of the two pictured....
The valve stem are exactly the same diameter.
The left needed a tap of the valve to unseat the lock, the right did not.
The right retainer rocks slightly with just the valve, retainer, and locks assembled in hand.
They are obviously different installed heights this way.
The retainer is the culprit of the anomoly figured by trial and deduction.
There are only 4 other valves like the one on the left.
I called ET about the retainer rocking and they said it was "normal" and wouldn't be a problem. It's like the valve it seating against the lip of the lock and not coming together as an solid assembly. My machinist agreed with that. This is going to be a very expensive motor when all said and done. I would hate to drop a valve due to a lock retainer issue.
I am going with mis-machined retainers.... what is your take on this?

I am pretty sure I just confirmed the mis-machined retainer issue.
With a dial caliper I measure a .006" difference in the big side and small side of the retainer chamfer between the two retainers pictured.
hrmmm... time to call ET back again I guess.
