It's alive!!! Fired it up a couple of hours ago. No leaks, strange noises, or stumbling, just sweet lope! The new valvetrain is much quieter than my stock stuff was too. DansRedZ28 was there helping out again and took some video of the startup and idle. As soon as I get it I'll post the link.

I used a plastic ice scraper and it worked pretty good for me. I also used an adhesive/film remover that I picked up at Autozone. It was basically a paint prep solvent that worked real well in cleaning surfaces. I believe the name of it was Prep-All if I'm not mistaken.

Scrape/pull off the big chunks. Wipe some of that on there, let it sit for a few minutes and scrape some more. Repeat till you're satisfied.

Surface doesn't have to be perfect, but does need to be smooth to the touch in all areas.

Just takes patience and time man. That's about it.

Don't forget to clean the bolt holes as well!

I went through a few of those plastic ice scrapers also. That and Acetone worked pretty well. For the hard to reach areas around the dowels I used a flat razor from a box cutter (very carefully!).

The cam specs are 230/224 .580 .566 111LSA from Thunder Racing.
