Well i am wanting to take the Valve covers off and check the pushrods and rockers, is it easy or am I gonna run into problems?? i know how to get the injectors out, coils off, and i consider myself an intermediate when it comes to engines but im not to sure on what to torque the valve covers back to??

remove coils
remove vavle covers
remove rockers
remove pushrods
inspect and replace as needed
install rockers tq'd to 22ft lbs. turn motor 180* and torque down to 24ft-lbs
install valve covers hand tight
install coil packs hand tight.
go to ls1howto.com in the cam install section if you need a pictured walkthrough. also, in the FAQ (sig) there's GM's way on how to install and tq down the rockers.

It may be difficult to detect a bent pushrod with them installed, so removing them is recommended. If one is bent, what then? One solution is to upgrade to an aftermarket 1.7 ratio roller rocker with chromemoly pushrods while you are at it. You will have to reset the valvelash when you are done, not hard, as much as time consuming for bleed down of the lifters. If you have never done it before, we all can help, but it is pretty straight forward. You get a trouble free valvetrain and some extra power.
If you do this, you will want new valvesprings and a cam to go with it. hehe.
