Default what the hell does a nitrous cam do

I sprayin a 150 shot (dry) on a thunder racing 220/220 cam, bout to get a bigger cam. What does a nitrous cam do that a regular one doesnt? Do you need a nitrous cam for a dry shot or a wet shot? Does it pull timing for you or what? Teach me

i think its just built around the idea that you will be spraying, so that on the spray you can maximize ur power?? but we all know cams like the MS3 and G5x4 make great N/A power, and i was told the g5x4 was a nitrous cam and of course... the MS3 + N20 goes together like... well... like two things that go VERY well together...

Don't even worry about cam selection if you're spraying < 200 shot.
But, a nitrous cam will generally have more exhaust bias because you are getting a denser intake charge and need the exhaust valve opening longer/more to get the gases out of the cylinder.

I think it depends on how well your heads flow what "nitrous cam" would be best. When talking to TSP about cams for my motor, I was told that LS1's seem to like between 6 and 8 degrees difference between the intake and exhaust lobes for nitrous. Like the ms3 is what a 237 / 244 on a 114? Like that. For the reason stated above about the exhaust valve opening longer to let the exhaust out.

But the better your heads are, the better your exhaust is gonna flow out.

I was also told that nitrous cams run wider LSA's so the nitrous doesnt shoot strait through to the exhaust.

For a 150 horse shot of nitrous on a street car I wouldn't even consider the nitrous when selecting a cam. As stated above it doesn't really start to matter until you are talking about a 200+ hp shot.

That's about it. The MS3 is a 237/242 on a 113.
