Default AFR heads swapped!!Cam?

I already swapped the 205s for the small bore 225's,however now that Im there I want to change the cam.Ill be doing some runner ridge removal on my fast intake this weekend.I went with GM MLS gaskets as knowbody had 0.045" cometics.
I hate the cam debate issue ever since day 1 ,well Patrick suggessted a 239/248 111+1 .649/.629,Tony at AFR said 244/248 on a 112+0.I just want to get a little better drivability but over 500hp.The car does have a unused 150 shot of T?T,but hpoefully Ill swap a direct port very soon.
Upgrades include AFR small bore 225's,ASP pullley, and hopefully I wont lose my mind choosing another cam, whatever cam gets the most response thats the one Im ordering

I thought you already ordered the 239/248 111LSA cam. The numbers are proven. You can't go wrong. Just do it!

I've run a 244/248 on a 408 before with a setup like your's.It did OK but I still think a smaller Cam would be better.Wish I had time to test that theory.

As for drivability.Just have it tuned SD by someone that know's what they are doing. The car will drive like stock with no bucking, surging ect.

Also, bigger headers will help alot like Kook stepped 1 3/4 to 1 7/8.

Either way you cant go wrong. for me i went with Tony's recommendation. My car kicks total *** on the street for such a mild setup.

Either one will work great...

Idle quality will be similar....Pat's choice will come on a little stronger in the middle of the curve....my suggestion will shine a little more upstairs, especially past peak HP (and wont be a slouch around 4K either).

At this point, just for everyone else's behalf, here is one of my PM's to Marine02SS concerning his cam dilemna and why I made the suggestion I did.

---------------------------------------------------------------
I would rather make more power and TQ upstairs where I spend the bulk of my time rowing the gears when I am WOT. With an engine this size, gong with a narrow LSA to try and build midrange TQ is unnecessary IMO. I would go with a 244/248 on a 112 plus zero (straight up). Speak with 6 other engine builders and you will have six other cam suggestions and theory. You get the picture...The wider LSA larger lobes will make alot more power between 6400-7000, essentially hanging on alot stronger past peak HP which I happen to like.

Good luck deciding between the varied opinions you will ultimately run into....LOL
---------------------------------------------------------------

Just thought this quick paragragh was worth sharing....

Why don't you try the cam you alreay have?
then do the cam swap if your not 100% happy....
The 225's should really help the peak power with that motor combo.
good luck
