Installing Rocker Arms i know u torque them down 22 ft lbs then turn motor over and redo 24 ft lbs. my question is do i need to have the number one piston at TDC in order to tighten the intake 1,3,4,5 and exhaust 1,2,7,8 than rotate 360 degrees and the tighten intake 2,6,7,8 and exhaust 3,4,5,6. i am going by a haynes repair manual and i really need to know this asap. i had to replace 2 PR on number 1 and 3 cylinder. i need to know
Re: Installing Rocker Arms I did that method with my TR224 cam, and ended up with a noisy valvetrain. This time, I tightened each intake rocker with the exhaust valve fully open, and vice versa for the exhaust rockers. 22 ft-lbs on one pass. This trick really works, and now my valvetrain is almost completely quiet with a .591 lift cam.
