Default Used Cam Q

I have a cam that has been in storage for awhile that Im planning to have installed soon. It was taken from a friend of mines engine with about 8-10k miles on it. He upgraded to a larger cam.

It's been stored vertically in a trash bag placed in a cam box inside my house for about 6 months or so. I also made sure it was lubed w/ oil. Is there anything I can do, or need to watch out for to check the condition of the cam and make sure it is suitable to install?

Make sure it in not rusted, spray it down with some brake clean, wipe it clean, reoil it and install it.
