Copper spray on Cometics...good or bad idea?
copper spray seems to coat very thin. Make sure you shake the hell out of the can first and do about 3-5 light coats with a two minute interval. Install after 30 min.
My luck with cometics has been very sketchy on various motors, especially when I revert to installing them dry (as usually recommended) that never worked.
IMO if you're looking for thin gaskets go with some SCE titan ICS ones.

It is not neccesary to spray them, but if you want that extra comfort of sealing the water jackets, you can spray them with a thin coat and put them on right away while their tacky still. Try not to spray too much that it runs
It's just a decision "you" will have to make. I went through the same thing after I removed my heads to flycut. Re-using head gaskets doesn't feel right to me, I'm old school.
Cometic and a lot of people here say not to spray, but a lot of people also say spray them. I sprayed several light coats and haven't had any problems either. I feel like it gives that extra little bit of sealing security like stated above.
BTW, do a search on copper spray and you will find tons of info on this. And you will still be confused on what to do because everybody has thier own opinion of why this is a good or bad idea.
