Default got a cam=happy day

Hey everyone, I dropped my car off at Thunder Racing on Thursday and picked it up today with a new cam in it! I bought the cheaTR cam which is designed to work well with stock engines. My stupid question for anyone who has it or knows anything about it is where should I be shifting this thing? The rev limiter was raised to 6800rpms but I am not sure what is going to yield me the best results.

Congrats on the cam install.

The shifting question is pretty dynamic really. I would get a dyno with the new setup once it's all broken in and use that as a reference or guideline when shifting.

So you don’t want to shift at 5400 when the car is still making power until 6200. But there is no reason to keep running all the way to 6800 if your horsepower and torque completely drop off at 6500.

Good luck!

How does it feel? A noticeable SOTP feel? Also was it tuned?

You should probably be shifting around 6600-6700 RPM.

Im still breaking it in but every time I drive the car the thing feels more responsive. I am still not used to being able to rev a V8 so high. I'm still stuck in the TPI mentality where the engine is out of breath by 4800rpms. No tune yet but I am going to see if I can get it on the dyno in the next week.
thanks
