Default Where to buy a shortblock?

I'm looking for a good deal on a shortblock. looking around $3,000 to $3,500 to spend.

You can get an LS1 shortblock for around $3000 or so, spend another grand and you can have a 402. I would go with the 402. All will build to your specs, I know Horsepower Engineering (HPE) does all their machining in house along with their build. That's definately a plus because they know how its built and what its built with. I will be getting myself into a 408 sometime soon and will be giving them a ring.

I got my 370 from HPE for that price range. I figured whats 100-200 dollars more for more cubes..at this point i might as well
