how much does and ls1 usually go for? What kind of heads and cam should i get if i want it to do say 400-500 anywhere in there but for a good price?

LS1 engines come in all different prices. Brand new crate motor is usually 5-6K or more. You can get a rebuilt shortblock as cheap as 2100. You can get an aluminum 402ci stroker shrtblock for just over 4K. Budget heads and cam, id suggest the patriot stock valved LS6 heads with dual springs, and the cam of your choice. Depending on the cam you could be anywhere from 400 - 460 RWHP on stock 346 cubes.
