Do I have to start engine close to lifter install time? Installing Comp 850's along with heads/cam and other parts...but my tranny is out being rebuilt. I have the lifters soaking in oil, but I heard you need to start the engine soon after installing the lifters. I have the engine preped and ready for installation, can I start then engine without the tranny in?
