Low budget rebuild suggestions
I do not race - no Nitrous
I never dump the clutch
I want a smooth idle
I have to pass a sniffer test
My thoughts are so far are:
- a Lingenfelter short block with GT2-3 cam
- the Patriot LS6 CNC'd heads that are currently on sale
- my stock LS6 intake
- stock manifolds
- existing Hooker cat back
I figure I would net about 350-360 at the wheels. The other choice is the CheaTR cam but I am really big on quiet idle and having no valve train noise.
I figure I cannot beat the short block price anywhere, even assembling it myself.
Any alternatives?
