Default 5.3 to a ls1/6?

if i buy a 5.3 alum block and bore it to a 383 stroker setup is it possible that all my ls1 **** will bolt over w/o any problems?

If you're gonna do that, you'd better buy an iron block 5.3 and throw in a 4.000" crank and 3.903" pistons. An aluminum 5.3 has sleeves and can't be bored that much, I believe.

Unless you are getting a really great deal on the 5.3L, get a used 6.0L iron block (or even a new one which is only $600) and build a 408. At most, it can only be a few hundred dollars more than the 5.3L setup (all the internal pieces are going to cost the same--so the only difference is the block price).

was just thinking that the alum block would be a hella deal for the wieght factor.

You can make a 5.7L bore out of the 5.3, no problem. You'll have to clearance the block for the stroker crank.
