Default Are cometic head gaskets reusable?

I've read about people reusing cometic head gaskets, but is this recommended? I'm thinking just cause it may work, that it may not be advisable. Thoughts?

I have quite a few times. No problems. One of the advantages.

Easily reusable with copper spray gasket or just bare if everything is still in perfect condition.

Negative, unless you've just bolted them down and forgot something and need to pull the heads immediately. Then, they may be reusable. Once they have been torqued for a while or run on for a bit they are not reusable.

So what's the diff? Aren't cometics and GM MLS both MLS type construction? Not trying to be argumentative, just wanting to learn.

After a heat cycle I would not suggest re-using the GM stockers. I installed the Cometics dry both times I have used them. No leaks, no problems here....yet.
