Oil pressure drop
I have a 98 M6 with LS6 intake, No cats, Alum Flywheel, Power Programmer, 160 thermostat.
I recently noticed at WOT in 1st gear towards 4500+ rpms my oil pressure drops crazy fast. It makes it all the way down to about 20 or less right at 5500 when I shift. As soon as I shift and the rpms drop the pressure shoots right back up and I can run it thru 2nd and 3rd and it never does it only in 1st. So I'm assuming it has something to do with the actual G's i'm pulling in 1st and not the other gears?? Or does it rev faster and internally something is weak or going out?
My front end does raise up a decent amount. If it is something like that what are the odds my 170,000mile stock struts are just letting it come up to much. Then I have to ask what about guys with way more mods and more power than me, do they have this problem?
I have a set of SLP long tubes waiting to get put on and I'm afraid it will only get worse. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
