Special Z28?
So yeah most of these cars are shocking to some one who has never driven/riden in one. You expect it to teeter off at the top, but nope!!!!
Ok me and a couple of friends were looking under my hood. I have recently bought a 99 Z28 with a 6 speed manual transmission. Both of my friends noticed that I had an aluminum block and also factory aluminum headers. They said that they think I have an SS engine but I dont believe that the SS is really that much different from the Z28 stock. When I was looking at the car to buy it I could also notice a real throw you back in your seat push for a stock. The car can get a second and is a really fast for a stock. Could this be a special ordered Corvette engine that was put into a Z28? I'm not sure but I would really want to know yalls opinion. Thanks!

Welcome to the LS1 world !

The SS Z28 and corvettes all have the same engine. What makes each faster than the other is the exhaust and intakes. Just simple bolt ons which i replaced within a month anyways. The only different engine is the Z06 with the LS6 in it and believe me there is a huge difference between the 305 HP Z28 and the 405 HP LS6 engine.

unless its an '01 ZO6 with only 385hp Just raced one the other day and stayed right on his tail, he didnt pull on me, and i didnt pull on him.

The SS and Z28 engines are internally identical. The Corvette engine is internally identical except for a slightly different cam (that is no better performance-wise.)
