Default Why is my piston like this? pic

I just pulled the heads off because I had a ticking that I thought was from a collapsed lifter and discovered this. What do you think would have caused this type of irregular burning? All the other pistons looked great.

Default good

All the plugs looked pretty good nothing out of the ordinary. If it is an injector i would be pissed, because they are brand new SVO 30lbs. that only have about 500 miles on them. How would I be able to test the injector to make sure that its working?

Were those valve dents in there before? Thats not a good sign if theyre a new development.

Default update

The valve dents were in there from when the car was stock and I broke a pushrod in half, so those were always there, the valve on that combustion chamber looked fine, but even the area on the head didnt have any carbon at all. I always use 93 octane usually mobil brand. And mobil 1 oil. Is there a possiblility that the spark plug wire for that cylinder is shot? The wires are still sock and have about 60,000 miles on them.

Looks like fuel wash. An area were there is no combustion taking place because of an over rich condition in that area. Did you do a leakdown test on cylinder, check the injector on that cylider? That would be a good place to start.
