I have a question. about doing a heads and cam package. I got over a 100,000 miles on my motor. and i wanna do a heads and cam combo. do i have to change plenty of things in the motor. I wanna go with a thunder racing 224 cam and LS6 ported heads. can i get that with a motor that have over 100,000 miles. let me know yall sugesstions. PLEASE
If you have a concern about milage when doing the swap have a shop do leak down and compression check to make sure you're not wasting time and money.
A few things you'll need in my opinion:
head & cam gasket kit
New Timing set that has new cam and crank sprokets
sparkplugs
New valves & spring kit
Head Bolt Kit(2) (or use Arp stud kit),
Balancer bolt
('01-'02 )28.8# Injectors or bigger
Depending on how old LS6 intake is some new O ring gaskets for it
and ofcourse some Good Oil
That should get you close im sure someone else could add
