Default How strong would an LS6 block be with....

A Lunati 383 crank kit, billet main caps, and other supporting mods??

I just bought a car with this in it and was just wondering how much abuse it could handle? The car has ported head, NOS cam, and an NX d/p with 300 shot.

Everything is fresh and has just break in and dyno time. According to the owner it made a little over 800 rwhp on a conservative tune.

Thanks!!

why dont u just boy a 402 short block and boost that, its based off the ls2 block and its known to be stronger then an ls1/6 block. plus in the end it will be the same price as a stroker or just a little more 3-500 dollars ( the bigger cubes justifies the 3-500 well spent).

Probably pushing the limit. Of the LS1, LS2, LS6, and 6.0 Iron blocks, the LS6 is the weakest.

Not sure if you saw the second sentence in the first post, but he already bought a car with the setup described.

To the original poster - the mods you described are all in the lower end of the engine. The stock crank could very well take the abuse, but rod bolts would be a concern at some point. What rods and pistons were used in the build?

Last but not least, make damn sure the fuel system has been built up to flow the fuel required at that power level. If it's marginal in any way, you run the risk of going lean. At that point, the most expensive parts won't survive.

A 300 hp hit without the proper fuel added will quickly produce molten aluminium!

Thanks guys!!

Like I said though the car is already built and has an NX dp kit with a dedicated fuel system for the juice.

hammertime, the motor was built using ALL Lunati parts-rods, crank, and pistons.

I dont have all the details on the car as of right now, but should be squared away on them in a few days.

Thanks!!
