Default Push rod weight difference?

Does anyone know if hardened chomemoly 7.4 push rods weigh more or less than stock LS1/LS6 7.4 push rods

Pushrod weight is not as important as strength.

From a performance standpoint???

I agree strength is important, but I want them the same weight or lighter. Valve train component weight matters. There are hollow valve stems for a reason.

All I can say is do some research on Trend thick wall pushrods.

The tradeoff is weight vs. deflection and the bigger issue is deflection. You want a stiffer pushrod even though there is a slight weight penalty. Since it is on the lifter side of the system and doesn't accelerate as mush as the valve side due to the rocker ratio, the weight penalty is not as big an issue. Bottom line, if the system is correctly setup, the pushrod weight won't matter that much, especially as comparted to the valve.

I agree with the above posts. Don't worry about the pushrod weight. Get the strongest one you can afford. You do not want flex in a pushrod. Remember it transfers the cam lobe profile to the valve. Me I'm going with the Terry Manton 3/8" thickwall pushrods in my SBC.

if weight is all you are worried about then go with some magnesium pushrods. Probably pretty damn expensive though!!!
