Question Quick question regarding LS6 in an T/A

Hey everyone, I'm new here but not to the LS* world. So I'm not here to flame or anything b/c I own a Ford. I was in the F-Body world before this new car so I have much respect for them and know perfectly well what they are capable of. Just here as a fellow enthusiast! Anyways...

I trying to help my younger brother get into an F-Body and we found him 01' WS6 that supposedly has an LS6 swap. The car is 4 hours away from here and we will be going to look it over shortly.

My question is are there any quick giveaways that is will be an LS6? I know that since it is an 01' that it would already have an LS6 intake if it were in fact just an LS1. But to make sure it is an LS6, will I be able to see any casting numbers on the heads or block just from looking the car over? I know the LS6 head is a 243 but I have been out of the game for a while and just looking for some quick help. I would appreciate it!

Thanks alot,
Graycen

Casting number on the block pad at the back of the drivers side, numbers are 12561168 for the LS6.
Heads are 243

Thanks alot for the fast reply!

Where is the best palce to see the block pad from standing outside the car? I know the motor tucks nicely into the firewall on these cars and makes viewing things difficult sometimes. Can I see the pad looking down into the engine bay on the drivers side or do you have to look underneath?

They probably just did the heads and intake and maybe a LS6 cam like any LS1 owner would do. As it says in the link above the block makes no difference.

Thanks for the link. I know the block itself really makes no difference but I was just looking for all the info I could to make sure this guy isn't yanking his chain. I too thought it was just an LS6 H/C swap but apparently its a whole swap. We'll see.

Also, where are the casting numbers on the heads? Are they visible?

passenger side behind EGR or driverside behind powersteering pump , then there should be a partnumber on the intake manifold i believe to tell you if its a LS6.
