Default What happened to my car? Tow #2

So right when i bought the car the pro5.0 popped off tranny and i had to get it towed. When i bought the car it wasn't tuned for WOT and so i have not had it above 4200RPM (which happened once) other than that usually below 3-3500RPM.

The car has had a problem with missfiring when i beging to get on it since about the second day i got it (it may be te tune on it) i dont know i wasnt worried about it since I am about to do a H/C swap to ge the T-rex out.

Today going down the road al the dash lights (low oil, seat bet, ses, odometer) began to flash and the guages went crazy after about 15 minutes of driving. The car started to missfire alot, so much that i could barely drive it so i pulled into a driveway and when getting ready to pull out it may have backfire im not sure but it shut off. I turned it back on and it missfired a few times and shut off again?

I noticed that while i was driving the idle didn't go much below 2k rpm's, even with the clutch in and out of gear, when i stopped it went down to 1500 RPM, could this be from the PCM learning thing? since it has a T-rex which is useless and cannot run below 2kRPM's?

Anyways had to get it towed aonce again, any ideas on what this could be or should i just hope that it goes away afte the H/C and a dyno tune from Rapid

heres a full mod list from thr for sale add:

Check the battery cables. That light show could easily be caused by a loose battery connection and is obviously something electrical. As for the car running like crap it's b/c it doesn't have a tune. Get a good tune so your car will know what the hell is going on. You can't throw a T-rex in and not get a tune.

yeah the guy that sold it to me told me he gave it a good cruising tune with HP tuners that came with it so ive just been trying to keep it below 4K RPM's I didnt want to put 500 into a tune when i will need to retune once i do the new H/C install. I will check teh battery cables but is there any way it could be that he has a very small racing battery installed?

I had something very similar to that happen to me, happened at the track during a 1/4 mile run, and happened twice. I finally realized it was because my battery tray was broken and at launch the + side battery post was touching the AC canister and shorting, you could see the weld marks. My gauges went crazy and started sweeping and all lights started flashing... Still ran in the 12's though with that happening, never got a backfire... That was when it was N/A though, so not sure what would happen know or exactly what your problem is. Keep us posted.

Yeah my car behaved a lot like that when my alternator went out. I was driving down the highway and the guages went out completely then came back on and started sweeping around like crazy. In addition to that I couldn't really accelerate that well, it would misfire really bad and just didn't want to go anywhere. I guess when the battery was almost dead I wasn't getting much spark so it was just dumping all the fuel straight into the hot as exhaust. I looked like James Bond with that smoke screen coming out the back of my car. In the end I replaced the alternator and everything was cool.

My car started doing the same thing yesterday... I hit a bump, and next thing I know everything has gone nuts. I'll post up what my problem was once I sort it out.
