M6 or A4. With just headers a stall and a cam you can run 11's all day long. Paid 275 for the headers 450 for the stall and 180 for the cam. Had a custom set of true duals made for 150. That is 1055 to run 11's. 11's can be run without a cam just look at the link. Most did it with a large stall and gears and weight reduction. There is a cam only list also.

forged 346,good heads, decent cam and converter will be easy 11's,maybe high 10's with the right weight. This car can be alot faster than the old cars you had.

i got some pm's that will help out so thanx again for any & all your ideas big time. im thinking price wise, smaller cubes with a good top end will be decent. I have trust issues with builders due to history, so i like real opinions from you guys who drive hard like i do. & Forged for sure cause the spary is way cheaper than a blower for these ls1's. I might pik up a 92 RS vert to DD so my 98 can rest while i get some more info and contacts. its been my dd since i sold another 92 earlier this summer (dumass).

see everyone has diff opinions, i found like 10 different long block set ups, but i was hoping to keep my original motor for a future rebuild as well so maybe a short block is better?

Wow, I didnt think that 5200 for a long block was that bad of a deal. I mean H/C alone is 2000+. **** some heads are 2000 alone. My bad.

So if thats the biggest rip off youve ever seen, then what do you think about the lingenfelter 350 package. Its 7000+ for 420hp. Or the 427 Package that goes for 29,000$. Dont get me wrong the 427 TT vettes are SICK. But 50K is a little steep dont you think. GMR built me a 408 TT with all suspension, Tranny, Driveshaft, Fuel System, all included, 1100+ RWHP for under 28K. Thats not a bad deal. In my opinion. JUST AN OPINION. I could be an idiot. Actually that might be a fact but whatever. HEHE

its all relative to your income and wants i guess, but i want my car back and running for under 5 g's, i just dont have the coin to spend that alone on just a long block, espically when i dont know the extent of the damage yet. but i hear ya. for the record, my blower car ran mid 11's pretty stock with a stick and 3;23', maybe the whole motor cost 2500, including the used vortec i bought for 1200... now just a blower for my car is 5 grand. -times certainly have changed.
